The Stories Live On - A Metis Learning Journey (Workshop 6 of 6)

Métis Rising — Sharing Circle

Saturday, November 28, 2026 | 3:00–5:00 PM
Otipemisiwak Métis Government Calgary Satellite Office
Suite 214, 1530 27 Avenue NE, Calgary, AB

Presented in partnership by the Calgary Elbow Métis District, Calgary Nose Hill Métis District, and the University of Calgary Werklund School of Education.

Our final gathering brings The Stories Live On into the present.

After travelling through generations of Métis history, this workshop provides an opportunity to reflect on the journey, explore Métis resurgence, and consider how the experiences of our ancestors continue to shape Métis identity and community today.

We will close the series with a Sharing Circle, creating space for participants to reflect on what they have learned, share perspectives, and consider how we carry Métis history and knowledge forward for future generations.

Our ancestors carried the stories. Our communities kept them alive. The stories live on through us.

Made Possible Through the Indigenous Reconciliation Fund - Catholic Diocese of Calgary

This workshop is offered free of charge thanks to the generous support of the Indigenous Reconciliation Fund (IRF). This funding helps us create opportunities for Métis citizens to reconnect with our history, culture, land-based knowledge, stories, and traditions, while ensuring these teachings continue to be shared with future generations.

We are grateful to the Indigenous Reconciliation Fund for supporting this important work of cultural reconnection, learning, and community.
