Historic Swearing-In Ceremony and First Council Meeting for the Calgary Elbow Métis District
We are thrilled to announce two significant events for the Calgary Elbow Métis District: the swearing-in ceremony of our very first District Councillors and the inaugural meeting of the District Council! These landmark events will take place on December 3, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the H2Safety Boardroom in Calgary.
The swearing-in of our first-ever District Councillors is a momentous occasion in the history of our community. It marks the beginning of a new chapter, where our elected leaders will represent the values, heritage, and aspirations of Métis citizens in Calgary Elbow. This ceremony is not just a celebration of leadership but a testament to the strength and unity of our community as we look towards a brighter, more empowered future.
Immediately following the swearing-in ceremony, we will hold the first official District Council meeting. This gathering will set the stage for the important work ahead as our newly elected leaders come together to discuss initiatives, advocate for our citizens, and build a stronger, more inclusive community.
As we gather to witness these historic events, we celebrate the commitment of those stepping into leadership roles, knowing their efforts will help guide the Calgary Elbow Métis District toward new opportunities and growth.
